KP Olympic Association Holds Quran Khawani For Late Haroon Bilour

Vice President Pakistan Olympic Association, President KP Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah and office-bearers from various associations, officials of the Directorate of Sports KP held Quran Khawani at Qayyum Sports Complex and paid rich tribute to Shaheed Haroon Bilour who was martyred on Tuesday night, last, in a suicide bomb attack during his electioneering in the interior city.
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2018 ) :Vice President Pakistan Olympic Association, President KP Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah and office-bearers from various associations, officials of the Directorate of Sports KP held Quran Khawani at Qayyum Sports Complex and paid rich tribute to Shaheed Haroon Bilour who was martyred on Tuesday night, last, in a suicide bomb attack during his electioneering in the interior city.
Besides late Haroon Bilour, who was also Vice President KP Olympic Association, 21 others were killed and 62 got injured in the incident.
Late Haroon Bilour had rendered great services for the promotion of sports in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and always extended support to different associations both financially and morally, Aqil Shah said soon after attending the Quran Khawani.
He said the sports circles in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were in deep shock and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
The sports circles, he said, had condemned terrorist suicide attack on Awami National Party (ANP) corner meeting that resulted in martyrdom of ANP candidate Haroon Bashir Bilour and 21 workers at Yakatoot area on Tuesday night.
Born in 1974, Haroon was son of late Bashir Ahmed Bilour who was himself martyred in a suicide blast in Peshawar in 2012. Haroon was contesting election from PK-78 Peshawar.
Condemning the assassination of its leader, Haroon Bilour, and vowing to continue the fight against the scourge of terrorism, he also convened a condolence gathering wherein president and secretaries, officials, players, officials of the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated.
Syed Aqil Shah said the party workers were the followers of the Bacha Khan's non-violence policy and they were not afraid of the nefarious designs of militants.
He said the death of Haroon Bilour and other innocent people in the suicide attack was a great tragedy and loss to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ANP Central Chief Asfandyar Wali on Wednesday, last, announced three-day mourning over the killing of Haroon Bilour and 21 others wherein 62 received injuries. He also requested all political parties to suspend their election campaigns during this period.
