Modern Kabaddi Stadium Awaits Completion In Faisalabad

The state-of-the-art Kabaddi Stadium at Kamalpur, of which construction was started in 2014, is still waiting for its completion.
The construction of the stadium was started in 2014 which had to be completed in 2016 but its work was stopped due to paucity of funds.
Former captain Kabaddi team Ghulam Abbas while talking to media here on Monday said the Punjab government had started the construction of a modern Kabaddi stadium near Kamalpur and the government released Rs 40 million, out of its total cost of Rs 80 million for the stadium.
However, the project was scheduled to be completed in 2016 but only one room for players and stairs for audience had so far been constructed.
He said the facility of boundary wall, fencing, main gate, changing rooms, gym, etc. still missing due to which the district administration was constrained to arrange Kabaddi matches at Iqbal Stadium or Technical High school.
He said that Faisalabad could produce Kabaddi players to bring laurel for the country, if the government provide facilities in this metropolises.
When contacted, spokesman of Building Department told APPthat the construction work was stopped due to paucity of funds.
