National Cycling Men/women Championship Next Month

Country's premier cycling activity, the 64th National Men's/Women Track Cycling Championship will be held here from December 15-18 at the cycling velodrome.
Pakistan Cycling Federation in collaboration with SSGC sports board is organizing the four day event, said Secretary PCF, Syed Azhar Ali Shah while talking to APP on Monday.
"The competition will help in identifying new cycling talent, specially women who are taking keen interest to take up cycling as a sport", he said.
Azhar said PCF is holding national level cycling events on regular basis, both for men and women, under its game development programme to expand the base of cycling and to have a pool of promising riders for forming national squads to represent the country in international events abroad.
PCF official said teams belonging to all the affiliated units of the PCF including four provinces, Islamabad, Army, WAPDA, POF, Wah, HEC and SSGC will be featuring in the championship.
"A number of track and field events will be held and the teams will compete in men senior, women and junior events", he said.
He said an organizing committee headed by President, Punjab Cycling Association, Moazzam Khan, and Ishtiaq Mobeen of SSGC as its Secretary has been formed to hold the event in a befitting manner.
