PAF, Punjab Players Dominant In National Junior Squash C'ships

Pakistan Air Force and Punjab's players kept their dominance in the 2nd round of boys' events of National Junior Squash Championships here at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad
The winners advanced to quarterfinals. In Boys U-17 Category, Asad Ullah (PAF) beat Khaqn Malik (Punjab) 11-3, 11-1, 11-7 in 14 minutes, while Huzaifa Zahid (PAF) edged passed Hammad Khan (PAF) in 27-minute thrilling contest with the game score of 11-4, 11-5, 6-11, 7-11, 11-1. Noor Zaman (PAF) trounced M. Ashab Irfan (Punjab) 11-7, 11-3, 11-7 in 19 minutes Junaid Khan (Punjab) notched up superb victory against Noman (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-5, 3-11, 11-13, 11-8, 11-7 in 34 minutes. Tayyab Rauf (MPCL) beat Afaq Khan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 8-11, 11-6, 12-10, 11-1 21 minutes, whereas Abbas Nawaz (PAF) overcame Ibtisam Riaz (Punjab) 11-6, 11-4, 11-7 in 24 minutes. Waleed Khalil (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) swept aside challenge from Huzaifa Shahid (Punjab) to win the match with the game score of 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6 in 35 minutes. M. Hamza Khan (PAF) got a smooth sailing against Khushal Riaz (PAF) 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in 19 minutes.
In Boys U-19 Category, Haris Qasim (Punjab) beat Saqib Iqbal (PAF)11-4, 11-2, 11-6 in 20 minutes, while Uzair Shaukat (Army) overwhelmed Hamza Sharif (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6 in 33 minute battle. Zohair Shahid (Punjab) beat Zeeshan Malik (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-5, 16-14, 3-11, 11-6 in 31 minutes.
Hassan Raza (Punjab) notched up an easy victory against M Junaid Khan (PAF) 11-6, 11-3, 11-3 in 14 minutes. Mohammad Farhan Hashmi (SNGPL) beat Shahab Khan (Punjab) 13-11, 11-5, 11-7 in 26 minutes. Zeeshan Zeb (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) beat Moaz Khan (Punjab) 11-7, 11-0, 11-2 in 18 minutes. Malik Abdul Moiz (Punjab) stunned Atif Malik 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-5 in 35 minutes and Naveed Rehman (PIA) beat Rafi Khan (Sindh) 11-9, 11-3, 11-9 (16 Min).
In Girls U-19 Category, Amna Fayyaz (Army) beat Sana (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-3, 11-2, 11-8 in just 12 minutes, whereas Sibgha Arshad (Punjab) go an easy triumph over Bisma Jahanzeb (Punjab) 11-1, 11-3, 11-0 in 10 minutes. Komal Khan (Wapda) beat Iqra Jahanzeb (Punjab) 11-4, 11-4, 11-8 in 14 minutes, Noor Ul Ain Ejaz (SNGPL) sent packing Manahil Durrani (Punjab) 11-2, 11-1, 11-2 in only 10 minutes. Zynab Khan (Sindh) beat Hira Aqeel (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-4, 11-3, 11-7 in 18 minutes, while Nimra Aqeel (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) beat Minahil Aqeel (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) 11-7, 11-6, 11-0 in 17 minutes, Aiman Shahbaz (SNGPL) defeated Fajar Hamid (Punjab) in one-sided contest 11-5, 11-0, 11-0 in 13 minutes. Fehmina Asim (Sindh) beat Maryam Malik (Sindh) 14-12, 11-5, 11-8 in 19 minutes.
The quarter finals of all categories would be played on Saturday.
