ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -22nd Augst,2016) The cricket series between women teams of Pakistan and India is unlikely to take place as board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has linked its outfit's participation with their government's permission. Pakistan were scheduled to host traditional rivals India for a three-match ODI series at the neutral venue of United Arab Emirates (UAE), later this year.
"The PCB has written to BCCI, suggesting UAE as the venue for the series. But the BCCI has conditioned to play the series with the permission of its government," a source in PCB told APP on Monday.
"We were expecting a final reply from BCCI in the first of week of ongoing month but so far we've not been informed about their decision", he said. He said the past experiences show the BCCI was unlikely to get go ahead signal from its government.
"Hence, it is almost certain now that the series will not take place," he added. The source said that the PCB had decided not to contact BCCI anymore on this issue now.
