Pakistani squad’s two more members test positive for Covid-19

With two fresh cases, 10 of 53-member squad have tested positive for Covid-19 in New Zealand  

WELLINGTON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Dec 3rd, 2020) New Zealand’s Ministry of Health said that two more members of Pakistani squad tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.

The fresh cases were historical and were currently in managed isolation.

“Investigation of two cases of Pakistani squad has revealed Coronavirus positive. These people are confirmed as having historical infections, and will be counted in our total as they have not been counted overseas,” said the Ministry of Health in a statement.

The ministry said that day 9 tests would be conducted today while decisions around exemptions from managed isolation requirements which would allow the team to train were still under consideration.

Pakistan 53-member squad arrived in Christchurch on Nov 24 for a two-week quarantine which was mandatory for all overseas arrivals in New Zealand.

The total squad tested negative before their department to New Zealand for a five-match tour scheduled to start with a Twenty20 International in Auckland on Dec 18, 2020.
