
PCB To Rope In Former Greats To Groom Youngsters

ISLAMABAD,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is working on a proposal to rope in former greats to train country's budding players. "The board is seriously considering to hire the services of former players for training young players in cricket academies across the country," a source in PCB told APP on Friday. He said that Director academies Muddasir Nazir in a recent meeting with board's top officials had proposed to avail services of formers players, some of whom are settled abroad.
"If these former greats agree to train youngsters it'll give a great boost to the game of cricket in Pakistan," he said adding that Muddasir had completed his strategy for grooming players.
The source said that the PCB while agreeing with Muddasir had given him go ahead signal to contact with former players. "The expertise of former players will be hired in phases. In the first phase the board will try to benefit from the experience of Wasim Akram, Aqib Javed, Saqlain Mushtaq, Rashid Latif, Mohammad Yousaf and Mohammad Akram," he added.
