Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators to play final of PSL-4

Zalmi fixed the spot for Sunday’s game at Karachi National Stadium after beating Islamabad United by 48 runs

KARACHI- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-15th March 2019) Peshawar Zalmi have qualified for the final of PSL-4 after beating Islamabad United by 48 scores in Eliminator-II of Pakistan Super League’s fourth edition.

The match played at Karachi’s National Stadium on Friday and attracted a large number of cricket lovers. Zalmi will play the final against Quetta Gladiators on Sunday at the same ground.

Islamabad United won the toss and opted to field first. The Zalmi set the target of 215 runs for which United failed to chase in the 20-over game. They made 166 scores for the loss of nine wickets.

Hasan Ali took the first two wickets of IU’s openers L Ronchi (17) and CS Delpport (28). AD Hales made one score and got dismissed on Jordon’s ball. CAK Walton made an addition of 48 runs in scoreboard before being caught by Nabi Gul at Mills delivery. Asif Ali went out on duck, Hussain Talat made 19, Faheem Ashraf 31, Shadab Khan zero, Muhammad Sami two while Rumman Raees and Muhammad Musa made not out two and eight runs respectively.

Hassan Ali and CJ Jordon were the highest wicket takers and they dismissed three players each. TS Mills, Wahab Riaz and KA Pollard took one wicket each.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi’s Karman Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq opened the innings and made 132 runs partnership. Akmal made 74 off 43 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes before he was caught by Shadab Khan at the ball of Delport, who earlier dismissed Imam at the score of 58.

KA Pollard was 37 when he got run out by Ronchi. Wahab Riaz got run out by Rumman Raees at score 1. Captain DJG Sammy made 30 not out on 15 balls.

The match at Karachi’s National Stadium started at 7 p.m. The law and enforcement agencies have made tight security arrangements and a large number of people were watching the contest.
