PSL-4: Islamabad United Set Mammoth 239-run Target For Lahore Qalandars

KARACHI- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th March 2019) Islamabad United has set a mammoth 239-run target for Lahore Qalandars during the 27th contest of fourth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) played at Karachi’s National cricket Stadium.
It is the highest runs target set in the Pakistan Super League history.
Qalanadars have won the toss and chose to field first. L Ronchi and CS Delport opened the innings. Ronchi was caught on the first ball of the match. Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed him on zero. However, CS Delport played an impressive inning and made a century. He went not out on 117 runs, also the highest individual in PSL history. Asif Ali made half century and went not out on 54 scores. CAK Walton hit 48 on 30 balls and PD Salt made 10. S Lamichhani, Afridi and D Wiesi got one wicket each.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars have won the toss against Islamabad United and decided to field first.
LQ captain Fakhar Zaman and IU captain Muhammad Sami appeared for the toss and they show their resolve to win the match. The encounter between the two teams will start at 7:00 pm.
A large numbers of game lover including women, children and elderly citizens have already reached the Karachi National Cricket Stadium to watch the match amid tight security environment. It is the 27th contest of the fourth session Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Both the teams will have to fight hard to secure their chances for the playoff spot.
If wins will qualify for the playoffs, but Lahore Qalanadars will have to face the Multan Sultans.
Islamabad is currently placed third on the table with eight points from nine games, while Lahore are having fifth spot with six points from eight matches.
