Route Inspection For 12th Desert Jeep Rally On Jan 21

MULTAN, Jan 5 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Organizers of 12th Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally will carry out the inspection of the route on January 21 in Bahawlpur. Officials said that a joint team of Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP), Houbara Foundation, district administration, Four By Four Club would conduct the route inspection to identify how many posts should be set up and at what points, mid-break point for racers, emergency services points, and others.

Officials said that the map of route track has already been approved and added that Stock vehicles would cover 195-kilometre and pre-paid vehicles to cover 485-km track.

In a meeting chaired by commissioner Bahawalpur last Wednesday, three different maps of race routes were discussed.

One of them was approved and race duration was increased from one to two days. On February 11, Stock vehicles would cover 195 kilometre long race track while prepaid vehicles would cover 485 kilometres on February 12. It has been proposed that prize money be enhanced while a special prize would also be awarded to the fastest racer.
