Spanish Referee To Officiate Four-day Asian Soccer Futsal Ch'ship In Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Nov, 2018 ) :Asian Futsal Confederation (AFC) has nominated Spanish referee Jimenez Martin for the Asian Soccer Futsal Championship 2018 to ensure that futsal laws are followed in letter and spirit during the event.
The championship is scheduled to be held at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan sports Complex Islamabad from December 13 to 16.
"We have received the confirmation of Jimenez by AFC and will forward his name to the Interior Ministry tomorrow (Monday) to get a clearance for him," Senior Vice President of Pakistan Soccer Futsal Federation (PSFF), Shahid Farooq Malik told APP on Sunday.
He said that ten Asian outfits would arrive Pakistan next month for the high-level Asian futsal championship adding that six teams including Nepal, Afghanistan, Turkey, India, Bangladesh and Azerbaijan had confirmed their participation in the event.
"We hope to receive confirmations from Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Thailand within a week," he said.
Shahid, who is also chairman of the organizing committee of the Championship said that colourful cultural programmes would be arranged during the championship to portray a softimage of the country. He said the UK-based Bhangra band Sahara would perform at the inaugural ceremony,while renowned Pakistani signers and actors had been invited to entertain the spectators during all the four days of the event.
