The Sri Lanka team will be touring Pakistan in November or December this year for playing two-match Test Series
Talking to APP, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials said talks are ongoing between PCB and the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) and hopefully the two-match Test Series will be finalized for November or December this year.
"PCB's move had come in a bid to move their end-of-the-year Test series from the UAE to Pakistan," he said.
The official said either both the tests will be played in Karachi or one each in Lahore and Karachi.
"A delegation of the Sri Lankan Cricket Board will be visiting Pakistan after the conclusion of Cricket World Cup 2019 which is scheduled to be held in England and Wales from Thursday," he said.
He said on their visit, the PCB will brief SLC officials regarding the security plans and arrangements for the test series.
"PCB wants a full-fledged revival of international cricket in the country therefore the board has beefed-up its efforts in this regard," he said.
Pakistan have hosted Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, an ICC World XI (2017) and West Indies (2018), for three-match Twenty-20 series, and Sri Lanka (2017) for a one-off T20. However, not a single Test has been played in Pakistan in recent years.
Pakistan has also been awarded the hosting rights for the 2020 Asia Cup cricket tournament. The tournament will be played in September ahead of the Men's T20 World Cup.
