Sultan Shah urges nation to contribute to country's prosperity

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2024) As Pakistan prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), has called on the nation to work towards the country's development and prosperity.

Sultan, who was the first captain of the national blind cricket team, said Pakistan came into being because of the eternal sacrifices made by our forefathers.

“We should not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the security of the country and everyone should contribute for its development,” he told APP.

Sultan, who also serves as the President of the World Blind Cricket Council, highlighted the struggle for independence, which was achieved through the sacrifices of countless individuals.

"We should strive to do something for the welfare of this country, contribute to its development, and play our role in raising its prestige, while following the rules, laws, and constitution," he added.

Sultan said that the Pakistan Cricket Blind Cricket Council has achieved great achievements in the field of sports just because of Pakistan.

The PBCC Chairman also highlighted the achievements of the Pakistan Blind Cricket team, which has won the World Cup twice and is currently ranked number one in T20s and ODIs. He emphasized the team's efforts to promote the country's name globally.

Furthermore, Sultan mentioned that PBCC has introduced blind cricket in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Afghanistan, forming national teams and providing training through Pakistani coaches. “This initiative aims to promote Pakistan's name on the world stage and contribute to the development of blind cricket internationally,” he said.
