Swabi Hockey League to register players by Aug 10

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Aug, 2024) Preparations are underway for the smooth conduct of the most awaited hockey event, Swabi Hockey League, President All sports Association Hussain Bacha told APP on phone here Friday.

He said they have fixed August 10, 2024 for the players registrations and after that, the dropping of the players will be started with captains of each of the participating teams would select their players turn-by-turn.

Hussain Bacha said the Swabi Hockey League is the annual feature of the District Hockey Association “Swabi Hockey League” is going to commence in the month of August for which 10 at Mansabdar Ground, near Karnal Sher Khan Shaheen Nishan-e-Haider.

Hussain Bacha said that all the hockey players in Swabi should ensure their registration with the elected heads of their clubs and with the officials of the League well before August 10, 2024. He said the players of Kalu Khan should contact Tauqeer and Shayan for registration, players of Dubiyan village and Kakakhel should contact Rizwan and Atif, Yar Hussain’s players from Shanzeb and Mansabdar and Karnal Sher Khan village players should contact with Nawab Ali while the players of Salim Khan kheli are advised to contact Tajul islam and Abbasin and players of Murghoz should contact with Tariq.

He said that the Swabi Hockey League would be organized under the aegis of District Hockey Association Swabi while dropping of players would start soon after August 10, 2024. Teams will also be formed soon after as each team will consist of 12 players. Eight-A-Side League would be playing members and four of them out of 12 team members would be reserved, he said.

He said before this, Kalo Khan village hosted the Swabi Hockey League in befitting manners. He disclosed that the District Swabi Hockey Association has a total 14 clubs. He also thanked Shaheen Khan, President District Hockey Association, Swabi and Secretary Syed Bakhat for extending all out support.
