Pakistan Rugby Union is holding Dell Gaming U16 boys 7s rugby championship here from September 28 at Pakistan Rugby Academy.
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Sep, 2018 ) :Pakistan Rugby Union is holding Dell Gaming U16 boys 7s rugby championship here from September 28 at Pakistan Rugby academy.
Eight teams including Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Farooqabad, Lodhran, Fort Abbas, Vehari and Karachi will be taking part in the competition which PRU is organizing in collaboration with DELL Pakistan, said a spokesman of PRU while talking to APP on Wednesday.
The participating teams have been divided by in to two groups. Top two teams from both the groups will play semifinal and winners featuring in the final.
Meanwhile, President PRU, Ch. Arif Saeed said it is great initiative taken by Pakistan Rugby Union to organize a high level competitive rugby activity for the young players.
"We are confident to shortlist few outstanding players from this event for their grooming and training under our development programme and to give them a opportunity to represent Pakistan in international rugby events abroad," said PRU Chief.
He said PRU through 'get into rugby programme' has introduced the game to different parts of the country and by that way it is promoting the game in a modern way invented by Rugby Union of Asia which has also praised PRU efforts for successfully running this programme and taking useful measures for the overall development of the game in Pakistan. He said in the U16 competition thrilling competition will be witnessed among the participating teams.
