The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has completed the process of uploading around 24 terabytes of information from the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday
"The lengthy process of uploading approximately 24 terabytes of information, forensically indexing it and pairing it to the various instruments, servers, hard drives, computers and other electronic equipment from the laboratory is complete. WADA's experts, with the support of external forensic experts, will now be able to start assessing the data in more detail to ensure it is complete and authentic," the statement, published on WADA's website, said.
In September 2018, WADA reinstated the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), which was suspended from conducting any anti-doping testing in 2015 after it was accused of covering up violations by Russian athletes, under conditions that the key data from the Moscow anti-doping laboratory will be delivered to WADA by December 31.
However, Russia had not provided WADA with data of the Moscow laboratory by the set deadline. This led to several Western countries calling on WADA to declare RUSADA non-complaint with the World Anti-Doping Code.
The parties later negotiated that a new attempt to gather the data would be undertaken. On January 17, WADA reported that its experts successfully completed the work on copying the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.
