Zaryab Peshawar beat Kohistan Club Mansehra in Memorial Soccer

Zaryab Club Peshawar Thursday defeated Kohistan Club Mansehra on solitary goal in the pre-quarter-final match of the All Pakistan Haji Habib-ur-Rehman Memorial Football Tournament being played at Kunj ground Abbottabad.

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) :Zaryab Club Peshawar Thursday defeated Kohistan Club Mansehra on solitary goal in the pre-quarter-final match of the All Pakistan Haji Habib-ur-Rehman Memorial Football Tournament being played at Kunj ground Abbottabad.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Elite Force, Abbottabad and former national footballer Ijaz Ahmad was the chief guest on this occasion. The players of both Zaryab Club Peshawar and Kohistan Club Mansehra were introduced to him.

Kohistan Club Mansehra got three easy chances in the very outset of the match and were nearer to score a goal but Zaryab Club goal-keeper Haris played well and thwarted all attempts nicely.

First this was Fareed whose attempt was nicely intercepted by Zaryab goal-keeper while diving to his left. He also saved three more attempts of the Kohistan strikers in the 11th, 18 and 25th minute.

It was in the 28th minute, when Zaryab Club Peshawar got the lead through Sohail Khan on the field attempt. Sohail got a free ball from the deep defence through a long kick and after exchanges the ball with inner strikers Yasir and Tufail slammed in a beautiful goal.

The goal injected new vigor in the rank of Zaryab Club Peshawar and they made some incisive rallies of attacks but Kohistan Club mid-fielders and deep defenders played well and did not give them a free room to score more goals.

Kohistan Club after conceding a goal tried their hard to level it but they were failed due to defensive approach. Most of the time, the Kohistan defenders defended their goal-post rather making counter attacks against Zaryab club and thus Zaryab won the match by 1-0. Atif Khan, Bilal Riaz and Wasif supervised the match while Faridoon Khan acted as match commissioner.
