The European Space Agency (ESA) should look into speeding up lunar projects amid the announced plans by the United States to return to the moon by 2024, Director-General Jan Woerner told Sputnik

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) The European Space Agency (ESA) should look into speeding up lunar projects amid the announced plans by the United States to return to the moon by 2024, Director-General Jan Woerner told Sputnik.

"Now that we learned that Americans would like to go to the Moon with humans in 2024, we should see what we can do also in our missions," Woerner said.

Earlier in April, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the United States is determined to do all that is necessary to establish a permanent presence on the moon by 2024.
