European Space Agency Chief Plans To Attend MAKS 2019 Air Show

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) European Space Agency Director-General Jan Woerner revealed to Sputnik that the ESA will not have an exhibition at this year's MAKS International Aviation and Space Show, but he plans to travel to Moscow to attend.

When asked whether he will take part in the MAKS-2019 air show, Woerner said, "Yes, of course.

"

"Unfortunately, we don't have an exhibit at MAKS as in the past, but I'll be there for at least 1 or 2 days," Woerner added.

Woerner noted that he visits Russia often and plans to travel there again soon, at the latest by July 20, when he could attend a Soyuz launch that will take ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov to the International Space Station.

The MAKS-2019, one of the world's largest aviation shows, is expected to be held at Zhukovsky Airport in the Moscow region from August 27 to September 1.
