Head of the Russian Roscosmos space corporation Dmitry Rogozin said on Tuesday that he had met with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to discuss space cooperation
The National Space Science Agency of Bahrain (NSSA) told Sputnik in November 2018 that it was preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding with Roscosmos space agency. In September, the Russian embassy in Manama told Sputnik that NSSA was engaged in talks with Russia on sending its astronauts to space, but no specific agreements have been reached yet.
"With His Majesty the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Roscosmos delegation discussed the prospects for cooperation in space and the use of the results of space activities for the development of branches of the national economy," Rogozin wrote on Twitter.
On Monday, Rogozin paid a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Roscosmos and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre in Dubai have agreed on the new date of the first flight of the UAE astronauts on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).
