BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st May, 2019) The Chinese technology giant Huawei is developing its own operating system that could appear on the market this fall, Executive Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group Yu Chengdong (Richard Yu) said on Tuesday.

"Huawei's own operating system may be released on the market this fall at the earliest or next spring at the latest," Yu said, as quoted by Phoenix TV channel.

Yu also noted that it was a single operating system for phones, computers, tablets and other products.

Media reported on Sunday, citing a source, that Google had suspended business operations with Huawei, including the transfer of hardware, software and technical services, except those publicly available via open source licensing.

The US Department of Commerce added Huawei to its Entity List last week, which means that US firms will need a permit to trade with it. US President Donald Trump issued an executive order essentially banning Huawei from the US market for being a national security risk that same day. On Monday, the Commerce Department said that the US government would delay the implementation of a ban on trading with Huawei for another 90 days.
