The number of cybercrimes has grown by over 1,000 since 2014, the Kyodo news agency specified.

The total daily average of suspicious access cases, including cyberattacks, amounted to 2,752.8 in 2018, surging by 859.8 year-on-year. While 20.8 percent of the attacks reportedly originated from Russia, China follows with 14.1 percent, and the United States ranks third with 12.6 percent.
