Lunar Version of Soyuz to Strengthen Russia's Positions at Talks with NASA - Rogozin

Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos is expecting that the modernization of the Soyuz spacecraft for flights to the Moon will strengthen its positions at negotiations with NASA on future lunar orbital station, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said Friday

KHIMKI (outside Moscow) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos is expecting that the modernization of the Soyuz spacecraft for flights to the Moon will strengthen its positions at negotiations with NASA on future lunar orbital station, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said Friday.

"If Russia builds in the coming years a manned spacecraft capable of traveling between the International Space Station and the lunar orbit, then we will have completely different positions in international negotiations, including with NASA, and with other colleagues," Rogozin told reporters.

"I think that this is a strategic role that Russia could play if we have enough budget resources for that," Rogozin stressed.
