MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th September, 2018) A Russian government committee has endorsed draft legislation proposed by Roscosmos Space Corporation that outlines greater state control over strategic enterprises of the space industry, according to a government document released on Wednesday.
The bill proposes to enhance state control over organizations and enterprises that are of strategic importance and regulate "the order of determining stakeholders" both on the part of Roscosmos and the state.
Also, the proposal envisions an increase in the number of organizations that can be owned by Roscosmos and allow the corporation to set up commercial enterprises.
Next, the bill will be discussed at a cabinet meeting.
The measure has been advocated by Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin since he took office in May.
The corporation currently owns over 70 enterprises, including research centers, design bureaus, logistics companies, production plants and testing facilities.
