SpaceX Plans to Launch 60 Starlink Internet Satellites on Friday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2020) Private US aerospace manufacturer SpaceX has said that it intends to launch 60 Starlink internet satellites into orbit on January 24.

"Now targeting January 24 at 10:54 a.m. EST, 15:54 UTC, for launch of 60 Starlink satellites; team is continuing to monitor weather in the recovery area," the company tweeted late on Tuesday.

Starlink is SpaceX's satellite constellation project, envisaging the development of global low-cost and high-performance internet. The development of the Starlink project began in 2015. Initially, the company eyed launching a total of 12,000 satellites by the mid-2020s but later extended the plans to 42,000.
