Twitter flooded with memes as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram went down

Social media users in parts of United States, Japan and some parts Europe were affected by the outage.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th March, 2019) Some users around the world faced trouble in accessing widely used social media apps Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook, making it one of the longest outages in the recent past.

Facebook took to Twitter to inform users that it was working to resolve the issue, which had been plaguing some users for over 10 hours, as soon as possible and confirmed that the matter was not related to a DDoS attack.

Social media users in parts of United States, Japan and some parts Europe were affected by the outage.

Users of Facebook faced issues in posting messages and uploading photos or status.

International media outlets quoted users and stated that a message showing to those affected suggests the problem is part of scheduled maintenance.

"Facebook will be back soon," the message showing to users read.

"Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you're seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site," the message read.

Users said they were able to get online, but that some particular functions – like uploading photos, adding statuses or adjusting particular pages – did not appear to be working.

While these three apps were down, people took to Twitter to rant.

In no time, hashtags related to the outage became top trends worldwide and the micro blogging site was flooded with memes on the issue.

Here are some of them:

People simply couldn't stand it

The posts had to wait

It was like a closed door

This was literally most of the people

Sad life

Twitter truck was loaded

This one never gets old

No idea..

Twitter was the ultimate saviour
