Wi-Tribe to introduce Pakistan with 4.5G service

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd March, 2017) : Wi-Tribe in collaboration with Huawei has announced to launch 4.5G service in Pakistan, by June 2017. According to media reports, a $15 million contract has been made between Wi-Tribe and China's Huawei, to introduce 4.

5 G services in at least five cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad.

Initially the technology will be tested at the Islamabad head office before being fully operational in other cities. In contrast with LTE which delivers data at the rate of 300 Mbps, LTE-A delivers data at 1GB per second. However, 100Mbps per connection will be provided to the users by Wi-Tribe and it will hopefully increase to 20Mbps by the end of 2018.
