Sikhs win over hearts by distributing Quran copies at refugee camp

The UK-based philanthropic group gave a gift of five copies of the Quran to a camp manager in Mosul.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th May, 2019) Sikh charitable group Khalsa Aid has won over hearts by distributing copies of Holy Quran to a refugee camp in Iraq.

As Ramzan marks a month of fasting, reflection and community for Muslims across the world, this gesture by the Sikh organisation is being highly praised.

The UK-based philanthropic group gave a gift of five copies of the Quran to a camp manager in Mosul. Members of the group were initially distributing food packets for Iftar.

However, when the camp's manager asked if they could arrange for the Quran, the group could not help but oblige.

Apart from the Quran, the group also provided the camp with prayer mats.

The video of Sikh volunteers giving away Quran copies is going viral on social media.

The Sikh group has made headlines in the past for helping refugees in the Middle-East and Europe by providing them with essential supplies, and also making festivals special for them.

Ramzan commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Mohammad and is revered as one of the Five Pillars of islam and this kind gesture by the Sikhs in this Holy month is sure praise-worthy.
