Heavy Snowfall Continue In Gilgit Baltistan Since Saturday

Heavy snowfall in upper parts of Gilgit Baltistan and rain in lower areas is continuing since Saturday morning as the district administration as a precautionary measures directed the people of low lying areas to shift to safe places in case of more rains and snowfall

GILGIT (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jan, 2019 ) :Heavy snowfall in upper parts of Gilgit Baltistan and rain in lower areas is continuing since Saturday morning as the district administration as a precautionary measures directed the people of low lying areas to shift to safe places in case of more rains and snowfall.

Meteorological department told APP on Monday that Uppers of district Gilgit as Nalter Gasho,Bagrot and Kargah have received more than six inches snowfall which further worsened the already decrease temperature.

Gilgit administration has directed people in the valley to adopt precautionary measures till Friday as Met has forecast more rain and snowfall in the region.

Two scheduled flights between Islamabad and Gilgit remained cancelled on third consecutive days,and roadside between Rawalpindi and Gilgit near Kohistan District remained block due to heavy landsliding which enhanced difficulties of passengers traveling from Gilgit Baltistan to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar and other parts of the country and voice versa.

No Human casualties has been reported so for from any part of the region.
