Isolated thunderstorm, rain expected; no major activity reported: NDMA

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported isolated thunderstorm and rain expected at various locations and no major activity occurred during last 24 hours while significant rainfall 27 mm only took place in Lahore on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Sep, 2018 ) :National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported isolated thunderstorm and rain expected at various locations and no major activity occurred during last 24 hours while significant rainfall 27 mm only took place in Lahore on Wednesday.

According to the daily monsoon situation report, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast for next 24 hours predicts, isolated thunderstorm and rain is expected over Rawalpindi, Gujranwala Divisions alongwith Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. Rain at few places is also expected over Lahore Division.

The road situation reported was the same as Road to Batswat village, Tehsil Ishkoman, District Ghizer, GB is blocked due to debris flow and restoration work was in progress on the road by district administration.

"All other roads across the country and railway routes are clear", the report said.

The rainfall outlook from September 6 to 12 in the report said, "No very heavy rainfall is expected during the period", adding "the same situation was expected during the period at the catchments".

Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours. However,rain-thundershower occurred at isolated places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Peshawar Divisions andIslamabad, the report said.
