KP Govt Fails To Remove Snow Dumped On Roads In Galiayat

After two-day of continuous snowfall in Galiayat and upper parts of Hazara division the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) failed to clear roads blocked due to heavy snowfall leaving several tourists stranded and locals stuck in extreme weather condition

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Feb, 2018 ) :After two-day of continuous snowfall in Galiayat and upper parts of Hazara division the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) failed to clear roads blocked due to heavy snowfall leaving several tourists stranded and locals stuck in extreme weather condition.

The residents of Galiayat including Donga Gali, Changla Gali, Nathiagali, Ayubia, Thandiyani and Kaghan valley remained disconnected from rest of the country as the roads were dumped with 3 feet snow.

The local people were forced to cover miles of distance by foot to buy commodities of daily use including firewood. Meanwhile Galiayat Development Authority (GDA) issued a travel advisory for the tourists and even for locals of the Galiayat to avoid unnecessary travel until the roads were cleared.

GDA deployed heavy machinery in the areas to plow the snow and clear the roads but fail till filing of this news.
