Lightning, torrential rains claim life of a person, 15 goats in Shangla 02 Nov 2018

Thunder lightning and torrential rains in the district Friday claimed life of a person while a shepherd was injured and his 15 goats were died.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Nov, 2018 ) :Thunder lightning and torrential rains in the district Friday claimed life of a person while a shepherd was injured and his 15 goats were died.

The district administration warned downstream floods and advised the local population to move uphill to avoid any loss of life, property, adding that due to torrential rains from last three days, the crops were damaged. It said that due to heavy downpour and snowfall on hilltop the mercury level has dropped.

Meanwhile the Met Office said that weather remained party cloudy in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However thunder-rain occurred at Peshawar, Kohat, Hazara, Mardan and Malakand divisions.

Chief amount of rains fall was recorded in mm as: Pattan 60, Kalam 41, Malamjaba 35, Dir and Balakot 31 each, Kakul 30, Mirkhani 10, Drosh 09, SaiduShrif and Chitral 08 each, Risalpur and Kohat 05 each, Peshawar and Cherat 04 each and Timergara 03.

The minimum temperature in major cities of the province was recorded as: Peshawar 11C, Parachinar 8, Kohat 14, Malamjaba 3, Kalam -1, DIKhan 17, Bannu 14 and Chitral 4.

The Met Office forecast mainly partly cloudy weather in most parts of the region during next 24 to 48 hours. However thunderstorm-rain with gusty winds and snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Bunner, Shangla, Swat,Chitral, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Bajaur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram,Kohistan and Torghar districts.
