Rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours while hot and humid weather to grip other areas of the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Aug, 2018 ) :Rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours while hot and humid weather to grip other areas of the country.
While rainfall is likely in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Multan, DG Khan, Malakand, Hazara, DI Khan, Zhob, Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Hyderabad, Sukkur divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
Meanwhike, seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan. Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country, met office Wednesday said.
During last 24 hours, rain-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Peshawar, Kohat, Zhob divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while rain-thundershower at isolated places in Gujranwala, Bannu, Malakand, Hazara divisions and Gilgit Baltistan.
Weather remained hot and very humid in other parts of the country.
Rainfall recorded in KP: Cherat 80mm, Risalpur 71mm, Balakot 54mm, Lower Dir, Malamjabba 24mm, Kakul, Parachinar 22mm, Peshawar City 17mm, Bannu 02mm, Dir 01mm, Punjab: Noorpur Thal 69mm, Islamabad (A/P 62mm, Bokra 09mm, Golra 08mm, Z.P 05mm, Saidpur 02mm), Murree 33mm, Mangla 25mm, Joharabad 15mm, Jhelum 12mm, Sargodha (A/P 08mm, City 07mm), Rawalpindi (Chaklala, Shamsabad 05mm), MB Din 01mm, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad 17mm, Garhi Dupatta 14mm, Kotli 06mm, Rawalakot 04mm, GB: Gilgit 03mm, Astore 01mm and Balochistan: Zhob 01mm.
Maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday were Chillas 45'C, Nokkundi 44'C, Gilgit 40'C,Quetta 39'C, Chitral 38'C, Multan, Hyderabad 37'C, Faisalabad 36'C, Karachi 33'C,Peshawar 32'C, Lahore 30'C, Islamabad, Muzaffarabad 27'C and Murree 19'C.
