RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jan, 2019 ) :The citizens of twin cities heaved a sigh of relief as the rain ended dry spell causing numerous health problems, particularly affecting children and elderly.
People from different walks of life expressed delighted and enjoyed the traditional local winter items like Doodh Jalebi, Gajar ka Halwa, chicken corn soup, Kashmiri tea, fried fish, samosa, pakora, vegetable rolls, hot coffee mostly high in demand during chilly weather.
Eatable shops at several markets of the town cities including Saddar market, Chotta bazaar, committee chowk, Raja bazaar, Buni, college road, commercial market, Chandni chowk and other places are witnessed crowded.
A citizen Fida Khan while talking to APP said that rain turned the weather pleasant.
"We thank Allah Almighty Who listened our 'dua' and blessed us with rain, which was earnestly needed nowadays," he said.
According to Metrological department, mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours.
However rain-thunderstorm with (snowfall over thehills) is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara Bannu, Quetta, Zhobdivisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during this time span.
