Widespread Rain, Thunderstorm To Hit Malakand, Hazara Divisions During Mid Week: PMD

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jan, 2019 ) :The Provincial Emergency Operation Centre (PEOC) of PDMA has issued weather advisory to the district administrations in KP as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast widespread rain-thunderstorm in Malakand and Hazara division during the mid week.

Moderate to heavy snowfalls can trigger landslides in Malakand and Hazara Division during Wednesday to Thursday, the PMD reported.

The Westerly wave is likely to enter the Western parts of the Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Tuesday (Evening/Night) and likely to grip different parts on Wednesday and may persist in upper parts till Thursday, the PMD forecast said.

Under the influence of this weather system, widespread rain-thunderstorm with few moderate to isolated heavy falls is expected to in upper KP including Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and Mardan divisions from Wednesday to Thursday night.

Snowfall over hills is also expected in Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malam Jabba and Upper Dir and Hazara division.

Rain Thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in Lower KP that is Bannu and DIKhan divisions during Wednesday and Thursday.
