About 120 Syrians Returned Home From Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Defense Ministry

Around 120 refugees returned to Syria from Lebanon within last 24 hours, Joint Coordination Center (JCC) spokesman Col. Alexei Posunko said on Friday.

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) Around 120 refugees returned to Syria from Lebanon within last 24 hours, Joint Coordination Center (JCC) spokesman Col. Alexei Posunko said on Friday.

"Within last 24 hours, 117 refugees returned to Syria from Lebanon through the Jaydet-Yabus and al-Qusayr crossing points (35 women and 59 children). Since July 18, 2018, a total of 7,093 people returned from Lebanon including 3,042 people through the Jaydet-Yabus crossing point; 3,008 via Zemrani; 644 through al-Dabusiyah and 399 through al-Qusayr. A total of 318 people arrived from Jordan through the Nasib border crossing," Posunko said.

According to the JCC spokesman, two humanitarian actions were held by the Russian Defense Ministry in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Daraa.

The foundation of Russias Chechen Republic leader Ramzan Kadyrov also held a humanitarian action in the province of Aleppo.

Russian doctors have already provided 14 civilians, including 8 children, with medical assistance in the province of Deir ez-Zor.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
