WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th May, 2019) Acting US Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan will be visiting East Asia next week to hold talks in four US allied nations in the region - Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Japan, the Department of Defense announced in a press release on Friday.

"Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan embarks Tuesday, May 28 to visit Hawaii, Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul and Tokyo," the release said. "In Singapore, Secretary Shanahan will attend the Shangri La Dialogue where he will meet with key leaders from the region."
