Albania's Prime Minister Sworn in as Minister for Europe, Foreign Affairs - Reports

BELGRADE (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2019) Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was sworn in as the minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs following a government reshuffle, local media reported.

Rama was sworn in at Albanian President Ilir Meta's office on Tuesday, with head of Albania's ruling Socialist party parliamentary group Taulant Balla and presidential administration representatives attending the ceremony, according to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency.

Rama will be combining the roles of the prime minister and foreign minister.

Earlier this month, Albania's parliament backed a cabinet reshuffle in a vote called by Rama after Meta refused to accept his nominee for foreign minister. Rama said on January 14 that he would himself take over the foreign ministry.
