All Medicines From French Authorities Distributed in Syria's Duma - Russian Military

All medicines provided by French authorities to Syria were distributed among hospitals and drugstores in the Syrian city of Duma, Joint Coordination Center spokesman Col. Alexei Posunko said on Thursday.

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th August, 2018) All medicines provided by French authorities to Syria were distributed among hospitals and drugstores in the Syrian city of Duma, Joint Coordination Center spokesman Col. Alexei Posunko said on Thursday.

In late July, a Russian military cargo aircraft has delivered from France to Syria over 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Eastern Ghouta, including 530 boxes of medicines.

"The delivery of medicines provided by the French government to the city of Duma in Eastern Ghouta has been completed. The medicines are distributed between medical institutions and drugstores in the presence of officers of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties," Posunko said after a regular meeting of the Russian Center for Refugee Reception, Distribution and Settlement and the Syrian Coordination Committee for Return of Refugees.

In addition, the movement of the field mission in the town of Homs is being monitored after studying the needs of the civilian population in Deir Ez-Zor, and negotiations are planned with the representative of the Turkish Center, Brig.

Gen. Cetin Koklu.

According to Posunko, in the course of negotiations with the representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), readiness was confirmed to render humanitarian assistance to the settlements of Maariyah, Arda, Abdin and al-Jamel, which were recently liberated from terrorists. He stressed that earlier in the day, experts had already been sent there to assess the degree of destruction of the water supply system and determine the need for drinking water. The water will be delivered from Thursday through Saturday, he noted.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
