Almost 760 Syrians Return Home From Jordan, Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

A total of 758 Syrian refugees, including almost 400 minors, have returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring said on Tuesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) A total of 758 Syrian refugees, including almost 400 minors, have returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring said on Tuesday.

"Over the past day, in total 758 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 137 people ([including] 42 women and 70 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh CPs [checkpoints], and 621 people (186 women and 317 children) from Jordan via the Nasib CP," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The bulletin added that Syrian engineering units cleared mines from 3.2 hectares (8 acres) of land and destroyed 23 explosive devices.

The Russian Chechen Republic's Akhmad Kadyrov Foundation carried out one humanitarian action in Aleppo, handing out one tonne of bread to local residents, the bulletin said.

Almost 163,000 Syrian refugees have returned from Jordan and Lebanon since last July, according to the Russian military. Yet millions more are still seeking refuge in over 40 countries worldwide.
