CAIRO (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd May, 2019) Saudi-led coalition's airstrikes on Yemen, which have been ongoing since 2015, have killed over 13,000 people, the spokesman of the Houthi Health Ministry, Youssef Hadari, told Sputnik.
"According to our data, 52,000 people have been affected by the Arab coalition's bombardment of Yemeni provinces. As many as 13,250 of them have died. This figure includes 3,800 children and 2,580 women," Hadari said.
Hadari told Sputnik last week that six people, including four children, had been killed in the coalition's airstrike on the Yemeni capital of Sanaa. Meanwhile, 56 people, including two Russian women, were injured.
Yemen has been locked in a conflict between the government forces, led by President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, and the Houthi rebels for years. The Saudi-led coalition has been conducting strikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request since March 2015.
