MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th March, 2019) Argentina's Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales (YPF) energy company is expected to sign a deal with Russian energy giant Gazprom on gas extraction soon, but some minor issues still have to be ironed out, Argentine Ambassador to Russia Ricardo Ernesto Lagorio told Sputnik on Monday.
"The agreements were supposed to be signed last November, when [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin went [to Argentina]. There were some minor details that had to be reapproved and we are waiting for this.
I know that in Gazprom there have been some changes in the company but the agreement is there ... It will happen soon," Lagorio said.
Russian Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov said in November that the deal on the work on a specific gas field might be signed during Putin's visit. The Russian president came to Argentina for the G20 Summit held in Buenos Aires on November 30 - December 1.
YPF and Gazprom signed a Framework Agreement of Cooperation in exploration and production projects in 2015.
