ABU DHABI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Armenia can get a new defense loan from Russia after the implementation of the current $100 million agreement, Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan told Sputnik on Monday.
"It is possible, but it is too early to talk about the specific weapons nomenclature," Tonoyan said on the sidelines of the IDEX-2019 defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
In 2015 and 2017, Yerevan and Moscow signed two defense loan agreements totaling $300 million. As part of the program, Armenia purchases Russian Smerch multiple rocket launcher systems, Igla-S man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems, RPG-26 anti-tank guided missile launchers, Tigr armored cars, and communication and engineering equipment.
In 2016, Russia supplied Armenia with Iskander tactical ballistic missile systems.
