BEIRUT (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th March, 2019) Terrorists launched several missiles at the city of As Suqaylabiyah on the border of the provinces of Hama and Idlib in northern Syria, killing at least one person, the city militia told Sputnik on Saturday.

"The terrorists opened fire. One civilian was killed, and four people, including a child, were injured," the militia's commander Nabeel Al-Abdullah said.

Local media also reported that the Syrian army returned fire at the terrorists' positions.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
