At Least 24 People Killed, 221 Houses Destroyed By Floods In Afghanistan In May- Statement

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th May, 2019) At least 24 people were killed and 221 houses destroyed across Afghanistan in heavy floods in May, Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) said on Saturday.
"In cause of floods in Kabul, Parwan, Ghour, Herat, Bamyan and Ghazni provinces from 3 May 2019 till now 24 people killed, 11 injured, 116 houses somehow and 221 houses got fully destroyed," the statement from the authority said.
Also, some 500 people, who found themselves in the flood-affected Timori area of Bamyan province, were rescued, the statement added.
