At Least 44 Dead After Ferry Capsizes In Tanzania

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st September, 2018) At least 44 people drowned Thursday after a ferry capsized on Lake Victoria in Tanzania, a regional commissioner said.
John Mongella said 44 bodies had been recovered, according to Capital Television, a local tv channel. Further 37 passengers were rescued.
Rescuers had to suspend the search for other survivors from the MV Nyerere ferry due to darkness, the official said. The operation will continue in the morning.
