BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) A meeting of five nuclear states will be held in Beijing on January 30, the parties will discuss nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear technology, Spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying said Thursday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and US Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Andrea Thompson were planning to attend the meeting.

"I can confirm that, indeed, the meeting of the five nuclear states will take place in Beijing on January 30," the spokeswoman said.

Hua added that the participants would discuss "nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes."
