Beijing, Paris To Sign Energy, Transport Deals During Xi's Visit To France - Vice Minister

Beijing and Paris will sign a number of agreements in the fields of energy, transport, finance and culture during the upcoming visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to France, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao said on Wednesday
BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th March, 2019) Beijing and Paris will sign a number of agreements in the fields of energy, transport, finance and culture during the upcoming visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to France, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao said on Wednesday.
"The leaders of the two countries, Xi Jinping and Emmanuel Macron, will hold a deep exchange of views on bilateral relations, cooperation between the China and the EU, on regional and international issues of common interest ... Agreements on cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture, finance, culture, science and technology will be signed," Wang said at a press conference.
According to Wang, China and France now maintain stable relations, jointly develop cooperation within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative, and actively cooperate in the fields of nuclear energy, space, and agriculture.
In addition, Beijing and Paris maintain close communication on a range of important international issues, including combating climate change, improving global governance and protecting multilateralism, the vice minister added.
The Chinese president, at the invitation of Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Macron and Prince Albert II of Monaco, will conduct a state visit to these three countries on March 21-26. During his visit to Italy, it is planned to sign a memorandum of understanding, which will open the way for Italy to join the Chinese investment program that includes Beijing's proposed investment in Trieste maritime center, a project criticized by the US and EU authorities.
