MINSK, 29 June (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2018 ) :There are plans to export Belarusian fruit and vegetable preserves to China, BelTA learned from Yelena Andreyeva, Head of the Tinned Food Industry Section of the Sugar and Tinned Food Industries Coordination and Development Office of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, on 28 June.
A pilot batch of products made by the Malorita canned vegetables plant will be shipped to China soon. The relevant contract has been signed. The official noted that representatives of Chinese companies visited Belgospishcheprom enterprises last year to get familiar with the foods they make.
Baby food made by Belgospishcheprom enterprises is sold in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
Its export rose by 90% in 2017 from 3.8 million to 7.3 million conventional jars. ?The figure represents 20% of the total output. We intend to continue increasing the export share,? noted Yelena Andreyeva.
Four Belarusian enterprises make baby food based on fruits and vegetables. Two of them belong to Belgospishcheprom. The four companies can make about 45 million conventional jars of baby food while the domestic market needs about 33 million.
Belarusian companies made 35.7 million conventional jars of baby food in 2017. The product choice includes about 600 titles: puree, juices, nectars, fruit drinks, and cocktails. Food security has been ensured as far as this type of baby food is concerned, added Yelena Andreyeva.
