Boeing Receives $194Mln Contract To Upgrade P-8 Poseidon Aircrew Training - Pentagon

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th September, 2018) Boeing has won a more than $194 million contract to provide upgrades on the P-8A Poseidon Aircrew Training System for the US Navy and the government of Australia, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

contract for P-8A Aircrew Training System production concurrency upgrades in support of the Navy and the government of Australia," the release said on Wednesday.
The Defense Department explained that the training system upgrades are required for training devised to be ready for initial training to meet future mission capabilities.
The Boeing P-8 is a maritime reconnaissance aircraft developed from the Boeing 737-800 with a maximum range of 4,500 miles or 7,500 kilometers. It conducts anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare and shipping interdiction, according to published reports.
